Bringing trusted knowledge into Autodesk workflows
AI can make information easier to find, but for engineering and design teams, a quick answer is only useful if the information behind it is reliable. Company standards, project procedures and technical guidance all need to inform how people work.
Global eTraining is developing its platform to help teams access this knowledge within their everyday workflows, combining technical learning with information specific to their organisation.
Making company knowledge easier to use
Useful knowledge is often spread across procedure documents, project folders and experienced staff. This can make it difficult for employees to find the right guidance, particularly when learning new software or working to unfamiliar project requirements.
The Generator, Global eTraining’s course creation tool, allows organisations to build training around their own standards, procedures and workflows, alongside GeT’s expert learning content.
GeT Know-How, its Autodesk plug-in, brings learning and guidance into the software where design work takes place. This helps staff access relevant information without repeatedly switching between applications and separate training resources.
For teams, the practical value is in making established ways of working easier to share, supporting new starters and helping employees apply company procedures more consistently.
Connecting AI with trusted technical information
As part of its beta programme and roadmap, Global eTraining is also developing integrations using Model Context Protocol (MCP), which connects AI tools with external information sources.
Its first MCP server integration connects the Autodesk Knowledge Base with GIA, Global eTraining’s Intelligent Assistant, making that technical information searchable through the assistant.
The broader direction is towards guidance that draws on both trusted software information and an organisation’s own knowledge, delivered when staff need it.
Supporting learning during project work
For busy design teams, training needs to be accessible alongside project commitments. Bringing relevant learning and procedures closer to everyday tasks can help staff build their skills while staying connected to the work in front of them.
