Bluebeam Update: Bringing Site and Office Teams Closer Together

Clear communication between site and office teams helps keep projects moving. When observations are recorded against the relevant drawing and reviewers can find the information they need, it becomes easier to understand issues and agree on the next steps.

Bluebeam’s October updates introduce improvements to mobile markups, site photo capture and Studio collaboration, alongside a new AI connection for Bluebeam Max subscribers.

Capture site conditions with more context

A drawing markup can identify a problem, but a photograph often helps explain it. On iOS, Bluebeam’s Capture capability allows users to attach photos of site conditions directly to their markups, keeping the visual evidence connected to the drawing.

For example, a site team could flag an installation issue and attach a photograph showing the conditions. This gives office reviewers more context when assessing the observation.

Tool Sets are also available on iOS, bringing office markup tools into the field and helping teams maintain a consistent approach to recording information.

More ways to mark up drawings on Android

For Android users, new Polyline and Polygon tools provide more flexibility when tracing site conditions, including conduit, piping and excavation zones.

These tools help users represent routes and areas on their drawings. Cloud+ also allows site teams to flag issues for the office as they arise.

Together, these additions give mobile users more options for communicating observations through drawing markups.

A smoother review experience in Studio

Bluebeam has also updated Studio to make collaborative reviews easier to manage.

Teams can see who is online at a glance, manage attendees and permissions more easily, and search or filter within Studio Sessions.

For those coordinating reviews across multiple contributors, these changes can help with everyday tasks such as checking participation and finding relevant information during a session.

New AI connections for Bluebeam Max

Bluebeam Max subscribers can now connect Revu to compatible AI agents through Model Context Protocol (MCP), including agents that support local MCP connections.

This gives organisations another way to explore AI-assisted workflows in Revu using a company-approved agent. Access to this capability requires a Bluebeam Max subscription.

Getting started

Bluebeam’s October release identifies Revu 21.11 as the desktop version to update to for the latest capabilities. The mobile improvements described above apply separately to Bluebeam’s iOS and Android applications.

For teams working across site inspections, drawing markups and collaborative reviews, these updates offer practical opportunities to improve how project information is captured and shared.
