The latest version of ARD 2011 is now available for both AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 customers on 64bit or 32bit machines.
We are currently manufacturing DVD's for shipping to all customers, so expect a copy at your office in the next week or two.
If you can't wait that long you can download it from the subscription site:
If you are running ahead and downloading you will need to contact us for a new license key, unless you are updating from ARD 2011.01 or later (in which case you'll already have the new licensing in place). We changed the licensing system from FlexLM to Reprise and this has meant new license keys!
From VBA to .NET
If you are currently running the old ARD 2010 or ARD 2011 VBA version, the top new features include:
The ability to open multiple independent cross section windows for any ARD Object (Road, Kerb Return, Cul-de-sac, String, etc). Each window can be repositioned wherever required and will update as any changes are made to the road cross sections or long sections.
The ability to project surfaces, alignments and other ARD Objects (such as Strings) onto the cross section view windows
A 'modeless' Design Data form providing users with the ability to edit the cross sections and review the changes immediately on every open cross section.
A Model Builder facilitating interactive creation of models using any/all ARD Objects. The new Model Builder boasts a dynamic and interactive display from which you can easily click on screen to remove portions of each object/string. All Roads and Codes that are included in the model are highlighted, and trimmed/excluded Codes are greyed out. Edits are stored in a list and can be readily edited and viewed int he interactive display. Click on Create Surface to quickly build a Civil 3D surface model using the included Strings and Codes
The ability to set any colour for ARD layers using the full AutoCAD colour palette
Latest Features in the New Release
Display Design Constraints on all Vertical Grading Editor and Cross Section Windows - in most cases these will dynamically update as you make changes
Display ARD Pipe networks on your cross sections - see the position of underground services (both crossing and parallel) on your Cross Section Windows, dynamically updating as you change the pipe locations/sizes using ARD Pipes
Improved speed and performance for ARD Pipe networks
Reinstatement of ARD to Civil 3D Corridor Output
Reinstatement of application of the Civil 3D Alignment Superelevation and the NSW Superelevation Tables
