Autodesk acquired Auto Track from Savoy Computing Services Ltd on 19th August. Autodesk also acquired technology for the design of small and medium span bridges.
Auto Track software delivers vehicle swept path analysis and the design of parking and roundabouts. Customised for Australian requirements, Auto Track includes modules for road, light rail, airport, parking and intersection analysis and is used by architects, designers and engineers. It currently delivers inside AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Map 3D.
There is currently no information as to how Autodesk plan to market these products as part of their software offerings to the infrastructure industry. Given the propensity to include extensions for Civil 3D in the Infrastructure Design Suites, don't be surprised to see Auto Track forming part of the Infrastructure Design Suite offerings in future releases.
